We want to thank you for all the money that has been contributed to our crowdfunding page so far. Whether you came to our summer fair, sponsored our staff and clients to cycle the equivalent distance of the top to bottom of Derbyshire, sponsored our Director Philippa to walk the length of Derbyshire, or sponsored Steph, one of our Creative Wellbeing Specialists, to cut off her hair and donate it to The Little Princess Trust, your money has gone a long way.
What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a way for people, businesses and charities to raise money. It works through individuals or organisations who invest in (or donate to) crowdfunding projects. Inspirative Arts is now a part of JustGiving – a platform that allows anyone to raise money for any good cause.
Result of crowdfunding for Inspirative Arts
Some of the children who were referred to us through the priority families framework found that the initial 8-12 sessions they were granted were not enough to create sustainable change, considering their complex needs. We have been able to extend the sessions that some of our clients have accessed meaning that change can be longer-lasting and more impactful.
Some of our existing clients have been in need of further intervention for some time now but their personal budgets have meant that they were not able to access the therapy they needed through times of change, transition and bereavement. This money enabled us to provide each of these clients at least 12 therapy sessions free of charge.
We were able to identify that some of the parents/carers of our clients needed additional support of their own. To ensure that their own needs were met and well-being maintained we have been able to provide at least 12 therapy sessions per person with no charge.
To ensure that we could meet even more people’s needs, services have been taken out into the community and into local schools. Here, drama therapy groups are being provided for children with additional needs free of charge.
The crowdfunding money has sparked the initiative to create an access fund for people that need our services during times of crisis. We are continually trying to add to this fund to meet more people’s needs. We continue to meet and assess people who need immediate intervention and support to fund this and therefore any donations we have received since crowdfunding have also been added to our access fund. This money has currently enabled us to reach over 14 individuals.
So what’s next?
Our next challenge at Inspirative Arts is to complete a marathon in May. Follow some of our staff members marathon journeys and show them support by contributing to our crowdfunding.
Hopefully, we will be posting another blog post later on in the year to express how this money has further reached more people. Thank you for all your support, you really are changing lives.
